2019/20 season of Bath's first ever Boccia League
Launched in partnership with BANES council, this new, exciting league brings together adults from multiple day services to take part in fun, formalised competition! The league is open for people of all abilities!
Boccia is a Paralympic sport for people with physical and learning disabilities. It is a target sport, similar to bowls, but played indoors and with leather balls. Everyone plays seated so it is suitable for wheelchair and non-wheelchair users.
The first inaugural tournament in November 2018 saw around 30 adults take part. With the games fiercely competitive and a huge amount of fun, the overall winners were the Greenhill Grenadiers from Leonard Cheshire. Congratulations to them!
Teams are made up of 3-6 individuals, with some groups entering multiple teams! There is a limit on the number of teams who can take part in each tournament and places are given on a first come, first served basis.
