Bath Frame Running Club Background

Bath Frame Running Club started in 2019 when Emily Graham, a local children's physiotherapist, approached Nova Sports for support to starting sessions. Emily, through her work, identified a particular need for a form of fun exercise that helped mobilise joints and increase muscle strength in the lower body.

After a mammoth fundraising drive to buy all the frames, sessions finally began fortnightly with huge interest from families and from adults. We are so grateful to the many funders who helped make this club a reality.

Frame Running consists of participants sitting on a tricycle-like frame, who are strapped around their torso, and who use their feet instead of pedals to walk or run.

In 2019 it featured at the World Para Athletics Championships and will appear in future Paralympic Games.

Bath Frame Running participants can take part recreationally with the rest of their family, including their siblings. A variety of other games and activities are also available to play whilst the frames are shared.

The club has a fun, relaxed environment that offers real benefits to participants' physical and mental health. Taking place at Odd Down Cycle Track, it is the only one of its kind in Somerset and was the 8th club to be set-up in England!
